Dadbods and being called pretty

Reading the article, "Dadbod: A New Word for a Timeless Physique" by Spencer Kornhaber, it talks about the new body type men have called "dadbod" which he says is "a nice balance between a beer gut and working out." I think it is something that I guess men have no problem with because it is not something as bad as being called obese from what I got from reading the article when it said "the supposed movement wasn't toward obesity, but toward a "sort of doughy, mattress, soft but not squishy, and no beer gut."" The articles goes on explaining how women and men seem to like the idea of "dadbods" and how it is something that has been going off and on the radar on social media. At the end of the article the author finishes with saying that dadbods is just a catchy name for your physique and that you're just like everyone else which I think is a good way to end an article about someones body type, it being a man or a woman because it really doesn't mean a lot, being fat or skinny if someone is happy with their "dadbod" then that is great.

The second article, "The Death of Pretty" by Pat Archbold, it talks about how women do not want to be called "pretty" anymore and prefer being called "hot." I think the idea of women being called pretty or hot is whatever the girl/woman wants to be called and should not really be a big deal. If a girl/woman wants to be called pretty then that is totally fine, the same with being called hot. The author saying "Pretty is cherished. Hotness, on the other hand, is a commodity." I think is just one mans opinion, him saying that "society doesn't value innocence anymore" is something so ridiculous in my opinion because really, it depends on the person. Women don't get ready in the mornings to look good for men but for themselves and being called "pretty" or "hot" is something that does not need a lot of explanation because at the end of the day someone wont be "oh she's hot but she's not a good girl" when she can be "hot" but be a "good girl".
