Societies perception on looks
In
the article “Dadbod: A New Word for a Timeless Physique” it
talks about how through social media pages like “Total Frat Move”, it seems
like the dad bod gets glorified to the point where girls find it attractive. I
disagree with how they act like how its something knew, when in fact its been
around for a very long time. For example, how the article refers to “The
Simpsons” which has been around for about 25 years. The only thing new about
the dad bod is the term dad bod, chubby guys and skinny girls as couples have
been around since chubby guys and skinny girls have been around. I believe that
another reason the dad bod is a thing is because guys just simply don’t care
about their appearance near as much as girls do. Girls want to look good not
only because society says they have to look a certain way, but because they
like to look pretty and it makes them feel good, not every girl feels this way
but some do. But although guys do like to look good, they don’t hold it to as
high degree of importance. They would much rather go party and and eat whatever
they want rather than wake up early and go to the gym. It seems unfair but it’s
just how things are and society accepts it.

I agree with and like how you say "glorified to the point where girls find it attractive." Using The Simpsons is a great example of the dad bod. If a girl like the dad bod look then we could assume that she likes the Homer Simpson look. Today's society is changing because I believe that some guys out there care more about their looks than girls do. Girls get to use the excuse of a "lazy day" every once in a while. Then again it's significantly easier for us guys to get ready mainly because of the lack of hair. These things are unfair, it's just what society accepts for now.
